We’re now well in the midst of firework season, but while up to 22million of us are estimated to be gearing up for bonfires and firework displays, the RSPCA have warned how this season impacts our beloved pets. The largest animal welfare charity in the UK has found that half of the UK’s pet owners dread firework season, with 43% admitting they have to change their lifestyle due to unexpected fireworks. In fact, it was further reported that two in five pet owners felt awkward approaching neighbours with the topic of firework noise, with many in fear of creating a divide in their local area. It’s been reported that the firework noise and flashing lights can frighten pets, especially due to their unpredictability. This means a pet could perceive a firework as a threat and turn irritable or into a panic.<br />But, there is some advice if you’d like to make your cat or dog as calm as possible during this time. One tip includes taking your pooch out for a long walk before you expect a firework display to start.

Police rescued an injured man from an oncoming train

A brave group of police officers rescued a man from an oncoming train after he slipped on the tracks and sustained severe injuries.<br /><br />Footage showed patrol officers from the Seattle Police Department, Washington State, USA, trying to talk a man, 57, facing a mental health crisis, back to safety at 9:16 pm on 7th October.<br /><br />The man, whose identity is not disclosed, can be seen sitting on a ledge high above the train tracks near the 2nd Avenue Exit and East Jackson Street.<br />The man survived. <br />Video: Seattle Police/NewsX

Circus stunt riders crashed during the ‘Globe of Death’

This is the moment bikers crash into each other during a circus cage show stunt called the "Globe of Death" that went wrong.<br />The incident took place at the Stankowich Circus in Bauru, in the Brazilian state of Sao Paulo on the evening of Sunday, 13th October.<br />The footage, filmed by one of the spectators, shows four motorcyclists inside the "Globe of Death" racing around horizontally at high speed when one of them changes course and starts circling the globe from the inside vertically.<br />Video: NewsX
