Glasgow City Centre locations were evacuated following a bomb threat

Bomb squads were called to Glasgow City Centre yesterday afternoon, on Wednesday 20 November. <br /><br />Buchanan Bus Station, surrounding streets and the nearby Caledonian University were evacuated and locked down after reports of a suspicious item just after 1pm. <br /><br />Bus services from the station were either terminated or rerouted causing a significant amount of disruption.<br /><br />Glasgow Concert Hall on Killermont Street also cancelled performances citing “circumstances beyond” their “control”.<br /><br />A controlled explosion was carried out at around 4pm though nothing was found.<br /><br />Police have since confirmed that three men were subsequently arrested for alleged possession of offensive weapons and inquiries are ongoing. <br /><br />Despite the hassle, it appears services have resumed and buildings have reopened. <br /><br />Passengers are being urged to check with their operators to ensure they are running as usual.
